Our Huey Brown Kitchens designers created this Texture! Texture! Texture! mood board using elements with similar shades and colors, but varying in finish and texture. We love how adding texture to a space can create a sense of depth! Choosing something as simple as a sisal rug or a cabinet with intricate grooves and woodgrain can liven up a room. Our designers started their mood board with the Kraftmaid Cabinetry: Marquette in Cannon Grey Oak. The light tone of this cabinet allows the wood details to shine through, making it more interesting than your basic wood cabinet. The Anderson hardwood floors in Old World Herringbone Tudor in White Oak have the same a shade oak as the cabinets. However, our designers at Huey Brown Kitchens chose the herringbone pattern over the regular wood slats, which adds another interesting element to our Texture! Texture! Texture! mood board.
For the carpet, our designers chose The Design Materials, Inc.: Veracruz Sisal in Gauntlet Gray. Again, this carpet has a similar gold/brown tone to the other elements in the room, but the sisal texture creates depth and contrast. Finally, for the hardware: A chrome or gold cabinet pull would not work in this space. Our designers needed something with enough brown and black tones to blend with the cabinets, floors & rug while still creating enough contrast to make the space pop. The Atlas Hardwares: Olde World in Venetian Bronze is the perfect choice. Don’t be scared to use all neutral colors in a room- break it up with Texture! Texture! Texture!
